The Buffalo Rifle Association of Australia (BRAA) Inc. was formed in 2009 to promote the use of the single-shot, black powder rifles used by\u00a0Buffalo (Bison) Hunters<\/a>,\u00a0United States Army<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Settlers<\/a>\u00a0during the late 1800s in the\u00a0American West<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Club is formally incorporated and affiliated with the\u00a0Sporting Shooters Association of Australia<\/a> (SSAA NSW) and SSAA Membership<\/a>\u00a0is a pre-requisite to joining BRAA.<\/p>\n

BRAA is licensed\u00a0by NSW Firearms Registry as a sport\/target shooting club<\/strong> for both Long-arms and Pistol.<\/p>\n

COOYAL Rifle Club<\/a>, 1770 Wollar Road, Cooyal, NSW, 2850<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2018The NIOKA Range<\/a>\u2018 Manilla Road, Boggabri, NSW, 2382
\n<\/span><\/em>Approximately 30km from Boggabri & 35km from Manilla (Google \u2018The Nioka Range\u2019 for details on how to get here).<\/p>\n

Shooting Activities<\/h4>\n

BRAA organises regular shoots on an 1000 yard range at\u00a0Cooyal<\/a>\u00a0(near Mudgee),\u00a0as well as Matches at\u00a0Nioka<\/a> (near Tamworth).<\/p>\n

The main annual event of BRAA is the\u00a0\u2018Billy Dixon\u2019<\/a>\u00a0Match held at the Nioka Range in September each year. This Range is 1000 yards long with provision to shoot out to 1200 yards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
